Triumph over Tragedy
Our book, Maze of Thorns, is our family’s true story of hope, a story of triumph over tragedy. In 1997, I was diagnosed with CNS Vasculitis, a relatively rare autoimmune illness that causes inflammation of the blood vessels in the brain and spinal cord, more uncommon still, mine was restricted to my brain causing confusion, memory loss, severe headaches and very quickly the inability to communicate or recognize anyone I knew within just a few weeks.
Where is Hope in Difficult Times?
The diagnosis of this mysterious illness took two long and grueling months. Even after diagnosis, the path was not clear to recovery. My heart stopped several times and my entire family was asked to come say goodbye.
Where is hope then? How do you lean on God during a time like this?
When You Need to Lean on Faith Alone
Our hope in writing our story is that others’ facing a difficult time will receive the gift of hope and faith and know you are never alone and if you’re not going through it yourself you’ll those that are in your prayers and lend a hand to those in need.
Our love and prayers,
