Why Set Your Intention?
Our purpose is to find a way to impact the world with our message. How can you make an impact if you’re not clear on your message? My mom and I are committed to sharing the message of hope with our book, Maze of Thorns. We are all built for one common purpose, to bring everyone together. The average person has 80,000 points of connection in a year. What if you could start with a positive intention to share that positive intention with one of those points of impact?!
5 Ways to Set your Intention
Deep Breathing
As my alarm goes off, I start the day with a few deep breaths and observe the stillness within. Next I start from my feet and move up feeling bringing awareness to each area of my body as I inhale and exhale. With every breath, I focus on letting go of anything negative and taking in only positivity and light. This also includes snuggling with my dog!
Yoga Practice
A common practice of yogi’s is to set their intention for the day and let go of that which no longer serves them. As I acknowledge what might be bringing me negative energy and let it go, I am able to create a new intention that will serve me and my purpose for the day.
Meditation and Solitude
10 minutes of meditation has changed the demeanor in which I face the day. I no longer hear the alarm and have immediate stress and rushing. Is it possible for to set the alarm earlier so you can exercise, walk the dog and be quiet with your thoughts. Anything to give you enough solitude to hear the message you are receiving. I’ve been astounded by the very specific message revealed to me during this time and well guided!
Daily Learning
Whatever you do , I trust some form of personal development to enhance your skills will keep you excited about what you are doing and what the world has to offer. Find a system that works for you. I get way to busy to take time once the day starts so my 20 minutes are in the morning on the stairmaster then more time in the car listening to podcasts. Find what works for you and stick to it!
Good Nutrition
Start the day with good nutrition. Something cleansing that your body doesn’t have to work hard to digest. I start my day with a liter of warm lemon water then, berries (blueberries/strawberries/blackberries), BCAA’s and glutamine and a vegan protein shake.
