Since I started this morning routine, life has changed…for the better! There is nothing like starting your day with balance, to maintain the balance throughout the day. I focus my morning regimen around the following 7 points, here they are. This happens by 8 am:
Prayer & Meditation
1, 2 & 3. Gratitude/Love and Laughter: My alarm goes off at 5:30 am. Yes, this used to be 4:30 am when I was in my 30’s so you people reading this who are in your 30’s, take heed to that, after 42 years old, unless you are going to bed at 8:30 pm. Sleep is the fountain of youth, so you stick with me on the 5:30 am business. Really. When the alarm goes off, I take my 9 month old puppy out of his kennel right next to my side of the bed and pull him into bed with us. This addresses, gratitude, laughter and love because he’s so cute and full of puppy kisses. The laughter comes in when he jumps on my husband’s head and starts chewing on his ear. I find this funny, I don’t know. Then we lay there and snuggle until 6 am and I think about all I am grateful for. Before I go downstairs to workout, I make my husband some breakfast or leave him a note with a silly picture on it for the day.
4. Prayer and Meditation: At 6 am, everyone’s up and Louie (the puppy) and I go outside then downstairs to workout. Morning devotions or meditation happen on the Stairmaster for the next 20 minutes. It’s my quiet time to listen for the voice of God and ask for his direction on how he sees me impacting his world. Whatever your faith is, 20 minutes of silent time to pray and meditate allows you to tune into your mind and spirit and be aligned with the messages you are receiving. Slow down before you break into a run.
5. Exercise: I exercise every day. I’ve enjoyed being a marathon runner, fitness instructor, bodybuilding/fitness competitions and spin cycling. Right now, I’m enjoying yoga to the fullest. I love love love Boho Beautiful yoga videos. So my home workouts are an amazing 45 minutes of yoga and 30-45 minutes of cardio. Some days more yoga, some days more cardio. Some days a weights circuit. All the while, I’m doing yoga, Louie (the puppy) is either jumping on my head or chewing on a rawhide. We hope it’s the rawhide.
6. Hydration: Simple one – 2 liters before I leave the house or eat anything. Plus one cup with lemon, turmeric and cayenne. Love that morning cleanse from Hello Glow! It gets my digestive system moving.
7. Daily Goals: I write out 3-5 goals that I must accomplish that day. This is a big thing to listen to. I got this from Michael Hyatt. Write out 3 big goals only. I can’t help it I do 5. Here’s the deal, you WILL be able to accomplish three goals and when you do you will feel awesome and it will build your confidence! If you write down 15 goals and only do 3 how would you feel? Like, what a loser I am for only doing 3 things and now I have to rewrite the same goals every day for a week. That is not good for your confidence and moral. Write 3 big ones and rock the house!
Have an amazing day!
Be well and be great,
